Logos, my word. I can tell you from an early age, it was drilled in me that if I ever gave my word and then didn't keep it, my parents would come down on me so bad. I remember only one time when my father caught me in a lie and took me to the priest. I had told somebody I would do something, and then when I didn't it made a lot of trouble for the other person, and well, me. The priest was very stern, um, that's putting it mildly. He quoted me from the book of Deuteronomy about disobedient children. Now I had not exactly been disobedient, so nobody was going to stone me to death, but I got the message. When I said I would do something, I better do it. I have since. No way am I going before the priest again. Once was enough. Quote from the Torah - Devarim - Deuteronomy Chapter 21 18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not hearken to the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not hearken unto them; 19 then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; 20 and they shall say unto the elders of his city: 'This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he doth not hearken to our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.' 21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die; so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. This is the scripture they drilled into me.
