The official discussion and assignment Forum for the Annual Lenten Adventure! "IC" ONLY! |
For the time being I will be leaving the journey to return to my business. The meetings and events will be relayed to my by my brother who will be staying. Someone has to make a living you know. This will give me time to solidify my thoughts and conviction on whether or not to go further with this adventure.I am firm on my belief in John this baptizer, but wonder still of the one he says is yet to come. My brother says the meeting and meal were held in "the upper room" as is custom of our time. The meal you all seem to think was so unusual is also ordinary for my time. The environment of the desert and arid land in most of this area is harsh. For a traveler, access to water and food is a matter of life and death. Conventions of hospitality apply equally to desert dwellers and those dwelling within the city. People are obligated to provide for travelers that stop either at tents in the desert or homes in the cities. The traveler is provided with water, food and safety while under a citizens roof. A traveler is at the mercy of the residents where he goes. By taking in a stranger the resident also takes on the responsibility of protecting the traveler. One of the most despicipicable acts in my time is to eat with someone then betray them. My brother is anxious to continue on this journey to the river. The Jordan is the waters this man of God favors for baptizims. I think this is where they will travel to. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Sandy ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
