Yes, did you ever notice that reading the same poem a second, or third, time sometimes creates a different sense of what's happening - that either the images or the impression/sensation is more vivid. I think that has to do with the poet's craftsmanship of the art. Leaving enough unsaid to allow the reader/listener to see with his or her eyes rather than that of the writer - I think that's what makes poetry ever alive and dynamic in all its formal and informal permutations. Thomas used the word 'mystery' - implication that clues are planted by the poet for the listener to discover - a guided journey with unique dynamic resolutions. ** Image ID #1190436 Unavailable ** Kate - Writing & Reading ![]() ![]() http://manga_kate.writing.com/ http://kate2world.wordpress.com ** Image ID #1738353 Unavailable ** ![]() to enjoy and share some Elven treats ![]() ** Image ID #1192740 Unavailable ** In the hunt for knowledge, tenacious pursuit is the real treasure. ** Image ID #1586767 Unavailable ** ** Image ID #1092660 Unavailable ** ** Image ID #1508956 Unavailable ** ** Image ID #1739263 Unavailable ** ![]() |
