Three hours into the safari and the tour group hadn't seen any animals except for a herd of gazelles and a few stray zebras. Malik, the guide, had promised them the world, and hadn't delivered. He drove the open-topped bus through the tall grasses with the ease, though he could hear the passenger's murmurs of disappointment. A slight rustle in the grasses caught his attention, and he gave a huge sigh of relief. Stopping the bus, and without saying a word, he hushed the group and pointed out toward the left. Every passenger turned in unison in the direction he was pointing. The tall grass swayed slightly, then stopped, then swayed again. The group held a collective breath as, from beneath, the grass, a large, majestic lion appeared. The lion stood there proudly with its main rippling in the warm breeze. Malik watched the group staring intently at the beast and smiled. In his fifteen years as a guide, he had never failed to deliver before, and he was relieved he hadn't this time either. Malik slowly stepped out of the bus and crept quietly away through the grass. Finding a spot near an Acacia tree, he waiting. A moment later, the Savanna was peppered with large beasts ready for their dinner.
