Absolute Monthly Horror Contest

I haven't completed anything since my NaNoWriMo failure. The story below started in a previous prompt, but never finished. This month's prompt gave me the ending I couldn't find before.

This is a nasty story. It's not for the faint hearted. I don't feel good about myself that I thought of several parts of it and I'm glad it's out of my head. All the same, I'm pleased with it. I completed it the story under the word count, which is a first for me. It unblocked me after a long period of despair.
