Noticing Newbies

I've always wanted to be a writer. More than a decade ago I had an article published in a small newsletter but haven't experienced that magic since. My instructors in school spilled more red ink on my work than you would think humanly possible. Still a college professor made me believe I could still write. I want to write books and articles. I'd love to see this passion help our finances. I juggle family and work and sometimes feel I don't have the time to write a thing. I posted my first work here before looking at anyone else's work. I didn't want to risk being intimidated first. Now I've looked around a bit. There are a lot of writers here with a lot of ability. I just want to fit in and make the most of my time here.
