Noticing Newbies

Hello everyone,

I have to say that joining up says a lot about my resolve to finally complete a fictional piece of work. Thus far, I have been quite content to talk about my ideas without fleshing them out in more than a few pages of a Word document, making up excuses for why I can't continue--too busy with a husband and three children, too tired, too this, too that.

I want to write. It's high time I do just that. I need encouragement and reassurance and that is why I've joined this community. When I want to give up because I feel my ideas are stupid or because I get too frustrated with my inner editor always trying to interrupt my writing, I am sure someone here wouldn't mind giving me a swift kick in the arse to get me going again.

Also, I am looking forward to reading and reviewing the works of others. I have a strong desire to do a little arse kicking, too. I know how hard it can be to stay focused, to break down the dreaded wall we know as writer's block, and to lose that spark that ignites so strongly when a great idea strikes and motivates you to break out the pen and paper in the first place.

So, here I am. Looking forward to getting to know some of you and your work.
