I had a story idea this morning and it's going to be a little different for me because it's a combination of horror and suspense. I don't usually delve into either one for more than a short story because...I'm just not serious enough for it.
But I'm giving this one a try and it made me stop and think...maybe I don't define these things the way I should. Which means...I know what genre I want to talk about this week.
So...horror & suspense. They can go hand in hand, but they don't have to. How do you define them? Are there subgenre's? Does horror have to be gorey and have supernatural monsters, or can it be something else? I know at least a couple of people who follow the forum write in either or both genres - why? What draws you to it?
And of course, anything else about horror.
And...never feel like you have to let me start these - anyone is welcome to open up discussion any time here about anything writing research related - that's why the forum's here
