An informal group of writers who enjoy reading books & sharing feedback |
First of all, THANK YOU, Connie, for suggesting this book! I would like to know the names of the other books it has inspired: (It has spawned a couple of theological books about it}. For a long time, I kept a copy of the Pilgrim's Progress handy, and I read it many, many times, second only to the Bible. Now Young has written a rival that I feel definitely cannot be absorbed in one reading. Just as Mack's brain gets overloaded as he is being schooled by the Trinity, so, too, does the reader. I got my copy from my local library, but I want my own copy, so I can read it slower and often. This book has resonated many chords in my soul, it has touched me deeply: from the Great Sadness (which I could relate to so much), to God's love for us, and being in direct relationship with Him, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, to man's failed attempt at religious play, so many wonderful things are jam-packed in here! I am planning on re-reading this gem again, and probably, again and again to extract all the wonders that it holds. AMAZING!!! Thank you Jesus! Hannah |
