An afternoons ramble

I’ve watched and often waited
And sometimes you know I’ve cried
I’ve lived and I’ve learned and still I got burned
And yes, I know I’ve lied

I’ve given and sometimes, yes taken
New needs to fill each day
And fought in hopes of forgiveness
For my misbegotten ways

Hooked by the cause of dreamers
For the things I’ve found to be vain
And gave myself into the reasons
that gave rise to all the pain
