A gathering spot for fools and their money. |
Hopefully this will be short enough for me not to have to make an item out of it for all to see! Eeek! For those of you who don't know, I'm in eighth grade at a private, Christian school, and I'm not the biggest fan of our middle school principal. Oh, and we have a really strict dress code. So it was dressy dress day for term awards, and I wore a short dress with leggings, which I've worn several times before. And wouldn't you know, my middle school principal decided it was too short. Her solution to this problem was for me to wear a long, ugly, old, uniform skirt UNDER my dress. Now, I don't know if you all are familiar with term away ceremonies, but it goes something like this: students are called up one by one to walk solitarily to the stage (8th grade has it worst because we're seated in the balcony), climb the stairs (usually in clanky heels), shake the hand of the headmaster, take the certificate, smile, say thanks, then walk all the way back to the seat. Of course, this is the most boring 30 minutes to an hour of the entire term, so what does everyone do the whole time? They evaluate the outfit of each awardee as he or she is called to the stage. So there I was, looking incredibly dorky with the uniform skirt under my dress, dreading the moment my name would be called. I fumed as I watched high schoolers strut up there with shorter dresses than I, and several weren't even wearing leggings. My name was finally called, so I walked to the stage with sympathetic looks from my friends and scornful eyes burning me from the high schoolers. It was horrid, and I had to wear the thing the entire day too. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Caroline ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
