I take it Henri is the priest in recovery. So Mies is not homophobic, just the opposite. She is angry at the homophobia of the church. I see your MA in theology at work here (yes, I checked out your portfolio). I'm glad you raise issues of religion here, since they are important to me as well. (I am also writing a novel, which has religious themes in it) I should ask at this point -- why is Dominic in a Christian denomination that condemns homosexuality? Are there no churches in his area, in Wisconsin, that would accept him? Is it an evangelical Christian universe?
