From this creased, aging visage
the eyes of a younger man are
laughing at us all.
Fooled by the assumptions of age,
taken in by the frail exterior and
the shaking pace with which he walks,
we can't comprehend what he truly thinks of us.
If we were to look, for a moment, into those young
eyes and try to appreciate the reality,
and try to understand his plight.
It is not the age that bothers him, no,
he's happy with the extent of his life.
But when the sterotypical trap closes its jaws
around his once strong body it begins to show,
the impatience with us, because we will never
understand until we become him.
