Rachel, I have new story ideas coming to me all the time. I have found it helpful to follow my muse. If I get a good idea, I will pursue it, regardless of the fact that I am already working on a project. As a result, I have three to five notebooks going at a time (did I mention that it is my preference to write everything longhand?). In any case, on my writing days, I will sit with my pile of notebooks and cycle through them. If one dries up, I just move on to another. It have only been writing for about 5 years, but I have never been at a loss as to what to write and I have completed 4 YA novels and 2 adult novels (in first draft at least) as well as a series of 5 Children's stories, two short stories, a dozen essays and 20-30 poems. Hope that helps, lizzie This is my new website, tell me what you think. http://www.marchbooks.com/ The beauty of the written word is in the emotions they evoke. Hate my characters or love them; as long as your feelings are genuine and run deep. If I have succeeded in making you feel something, I have succeeded as an author.
