Thanks so much -- those blasted commas!

There's actually a a revision I did yesterday that changes the opening slightly to show the tough guy shoving the muscle boy rather than telling about it. I think it makes it a bit stronger.

You're also correct that this is SciFi -- i have a big backstory about Geoff and Kennard and their respective races and why they are on Earth. I might expand this someday into my own little vampire novella...
