Glad I could be of some help, Scott. Sometimes you have to weigh things like internal debates. With your main character observing Nico, it's obvious that Nico is debating in his mind. He doesn't say anything. The only thing you could do that might make it stronger is to maybe have an expression cross his face, maybe even just a frown.
