Hmm.... the way Richard and I have been both portraying vampires (normal or Krusnik), suggests strongly to me that, even in normal circumstances, they are incredibly aware of the emotions of others, particularly the darker emotions. Perhaps the Borderlands, being generally darker in nature, sort of amplify this empathy, so that the vampires in the group are much more aware not only of their own hunger, fear, anger or other emotions, but also those emotions in others?
