Noticing Newbies

I suppose the best way to began is to say that this is my first attempt to join any type of writing community for the simple reason that I don't see myself as "a writer", not yet. I see myself more as a student of "The Human Condition" deeply curious about the nature of existence and my place within it. I study the craft of writing as a medium to express myself and to communicate with my fellow travelers on this journey called "life". I hope that one day through the combined process of my efforts and the creative insights of those who share my passion of creativity I will become "a writer". While going through this evolution I hope to help as many as I can to uncover their own personal truths and reveal to myself the essence of mine. I hope joining this site will be the beginning of this process. I've submitted my first piece of work to the site. It is a poem I call: "The Season". It is my take on the state of The Holidays as I now see them. Being the product of a military family and a self-confessed Army Brat, I feel a kinship with the world itself. Being raised around so many I can see "the oneness of us all". I'm in hopes that you will welcome me by reading my work and giving me your honest feedback. I am here to learn.
