We like it hot and sexy! |
Oh Sasha. Don't you dare lose confidence in yourself. I admire your writing and your style. You have the knack to capture reality with your characters in a way that is so honest and vulnerable. I love it. I know what you mean about Cowboys. By the fifth read of Rope I felt nothing, no emotion for the characters, no connection. I was too busy looking for punctuation that fell off or those damned repeated words. The prior reads I was crying when Del was crying. By the time you've read something so many times in such a short span, you get desensitized. So don't lose heart. As far as promo-YUCK! It's not so fun as I had hoped. I try, I really do, but it tends to be so redundant and time consuming. I just hope I can come up with new ideas to toss out there and grab reader attention. Of all the hundreds of invites I sent to the Forbidden chat and the one show--Bret--he bought the book. That was a hard sell, way too hard. There has to be a better way and I'll keep searching for it. And what's the deal with starting sentences with a conjunction? *giggles* The reason I make you not do that is because it's in Forbidden's editing guidelines. It's a style choice. Like anything, when overdone it becomes redundant. It's one of the gray matter calls between black and white. Plus, it's old school grammar. But people speak that way, don't they? ^^ I've never done NaNo. I like living by my own, much crueler, deadlines. I wish you luck if you go for it. For me writing is all about catching the muse who can hold my attention all the way to the end. Sometimes it's easy. Sometimes I have to grab the muse, tie him up and squeeze the story out. Hang in there. I know you're busy with Nascar and modding the massive Romance forum. I'll be here waiting when you get a chatterbox erotica muse.
