We like it hot and sexy! |
You're right, Traci we should all follow our inner voice and go with what we believe as truth. Difference of opinions is quite all right. That's what I'm going to do...my own thing! Woo hoo! IMHO right or wrong, according to the English text books, fair or unfair, in this strange world of erotic - romance publishing, I'm going rarely use the passive voice, including useage of "was" and "were", adverbs, or write in the first person, because I really, really do believe that in using them, I would drastically reduce my chances of being published in this genre on the net. If you don't believe me, buy a random novella at Ellora's Cave and count the passive sentences and the "was' and "weres." Count the ly words too. They are few. I'm not saying the useage is wrong...it's just not accepted. To me, they are more concerned with writing erotically and turning people on as opposed to writing properly like the scholars in high university places dictates for them to do. Later guys. I've got to get back to Harley Heat. ![]() Coming out at http://forbiddenpublications.com Aug. 30th, Winning Opal's Heart a bad boy-good girl novel ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** blurb and excerpts at: http://carol-mckenzie.com/winningopal.htm Check out review for Gentlemen's Bride --> http://theromancestudio.com/reviews/reviews/gentlemansbridemckenzie.htm |
