I have a question as well as a gripe. I'll get the gripe out of the way first.

While I admire Martijn's excitement in involving as many of the writers listed on the roles in what we are doing, I would have liked each of us to have seen his letter before he sent it out regarding what we are doing or our goals as a group. As we can see through the many posts each of us are still slightly confused as to what and how we are to accomplish the simple idea of reviewing our workshop entries.

Perhaps that can be one area to work on, actually defining what we want to accomplish so those who join our merry group will have a bit of structure to work with. I have thoughts on a few of the proposals Martijn has suggested but I think I would rather bring them to this forum first so we can iron out the kinks and proceed in a somewhat professional manner. Maybe I'm off course here, but it will take someone responding to tell me so. What are your thoughts on the blanket letter?

And this is in no way a slam to Martijn because he has helped us regroup and offered ideas when we weren't doing anything. I just think if a group is involved, then a group needs to be part of the decision making process.

Now, regarding new members. If someone is interested in joining this group must their port be heavy with horror writing? I know someone who is probably interested and has a full scope of understanding when writing in many different genres, but their main thrust isn't always horror. In fact, my writing isn't always horror or gore, but more in the dark fantasy realm of thrillers or mysteries with supernatural overtones.

I do know that this person is open to new ideas, very professional in their writing, and loves mixing it up with great people. Let me know your thoughts on someone joining that isn't strictly horror oriented.

Okay, done for a bit. I've just gotten a call and a slight emergency has come up and I might be away for a few days. I'll try to get here when I can get a break from the problem and check out the posts and try to do some reviews.

I'm looking forward to the banter!

Patricia
