Speak up when you get here. I'll let you know how everything works so you don't get lost. It can be a bit confusing at first. As I said before, you need to do at least one review or post one of your chapters a week to be listed on the boards.

There are two parts to the boards. The first section, The Review Boards, is where the authors & their books/chapters go that posted reviews the prior week, They're placed there based on how many reviews they completed. The more reviews you do, the higher on the list you go. The theory being that the first person should be reviewed first.

The second section is the Writer's Board. That's where those who only completed writing but no reviews the prior week go.

The Red List is where you don't want to be. That means you didn't review or write and therefore we have to take out the cyber whip and smack ya around a bit. If you stay on the Red List for more than a week, you drop off the boards. But you're not gonna do that, right? *eyes you* Even so, if that happens, jump back in the game when get time back and either write or review to get placed on the boards.

Here is the format I use for reviews:

Title of novel:
Chapter number:
Author:

Setting: Could you see it? Did the author use all the senses?

Character Development: How did the characters grow throughout the chapter? How believable are they?

Historical Referencing: Do the clothes, hairstyles, language, actions, etc... match with the time period—this includes current day—of the novel?

Plot: Did it leave you asking the right questions or were you totally lost?

Grammatical: Are there any consistent grammar or spelling errors the author should be aware of?

General: Talk about any other areas where there is room for improvement: POV, descriptions, dialogue, format, etc...

Personal Opinion: Summarize your review, give any advice you can, and give your honest opinion.

If you have any question, ask. You know where to find me and you can also ask your fellow author by posting in here on the message board. Welcome to the Harem.
