It's interersting that you guys are discussing this topic right now, because I currently am reading a fanfiction where Snape is actually Harry's father by Lily (I know, it sounds ridiculous, but it is actually really good.) Obviously, this would never happen in the actual books, but the fic has opened up my eyes to how deep Snape's relationship with Lily could have been. There was definately some good reason why Voldemort ws willing to spare Lily and I think it could have had something to do with Snape. It would have had to have been more compliacted than Snape simply asking for it though, for one reason: Lily was Muggleborn and Voldemort would have been disgusted if he knew that Snape was in love with her. So, I think there had to have been a political reason why he spared her. Anyway, Good Discussion! Ali Check Out:
