well said Traci! I agree with what you say totally. I write this way.
However......
I'm just saying that there are several e-publishers (not all for God sakes) on the web who really do go by word count of sex scenes unfortunately. If you want to sell your stuff to them you have to do what they say. Take Loose ID and EC for example.
Loose ID liked sex scattered throughout the story and told me so in Taneka's Cowboy ... (which irked me) Ellora's Cave is heavy into large sex scenes... In fact...regarding Conjuration....BTW they wanted it after Forbidden contracted it. They told me to make the sex scene longer and send it back. Seriously....they said "Drag the sex scene out and resend." I thought I had the sex scene long already.
Traci I feel the same way you do on this. When it fits in the story do it. But there are some e-publishers who will not take your stuff if you don't have a high percentage of sex in your story... it's like your story must be about a couple's sex.
