I read more fantasy than sci-fi, more romance than fantasy though most of them fall into the fantasy realm as well. I read them for the same reason you do - to escape, if only for a little while. If I wanted reality, I'd watch CNN. All my life, I've read fantasy in some form and even now, no matter how hard I try, everything I write winds up either fantasy or sci-fi.

Can't even cross a street without it turning into fairy land...
