Thanks, Es! I know that there's supposed to be soft and hard sci-fi, or whatever their names are. Mine is definitely soft. Soft as mushy peas. Everything will literally be made up by moi truly, except maybe electricity. Lol! But just didn't want to sound unconvincing to the sci-fiers.

I'll keep your tips in mind as I write. Really good advice.

PS. Not EVERYONE calls it 'cell'. *sniff of indignation* 'Mobile phone' is totally the way to go.
