Salty wisps of reclaimed water
Leave droplets in my hair
A couple comes in, hard embrace
Lord, it isn't fair

Golden taxis scream on by
Oil-dripping brakes
The liquid catches on my arms
Like tiny tar-black lakes

My skin moans at me
Stifled by pollution, glittering with grime
Endless views of blue-green sky
Disappeared to brown

There is no bliss in love's embrace
Though I've seen it in the park
Nor can I stand a small town's pace
With so much calm from dawn to dark
Buildings may climb,
