Prelim Round 1 is now closed for judging. Please do not post any more entries here - and please do not edit your poems any further. Any poems edited after this post will be DQ'd.

The five winners who have earned a spot in the Finales will be announced here by Sunday evening - and the Prelim Round 2 prompt will be posted on Monday morning by 10am.

EVERYONE is encouraged to enter Prelim Round 2 - there will be another five spots to the finales up for grabs - so if you didn't place in Round 1, there are still three more rounds for you to compete in for a spot in the finales. Also, if you are one of the Round 1 winners, you can still compete in the rest of the Prelim rounds - if you win a subsequent round, you'll just narrow the field down a bit.
