I agree, Mike, that three poems is too few to really judge a poet's skill, as well as their committment to the craft or to predict whether they will be active here.
I do not like the three or four month limit since a new poem has been added, though. For myself, my poetry comes in spurts, and my impossibly complicated schedule makes my activity here really variable. I often find myself torn between the choice of using my limited time to write, read/ponder/respond to reviews I receive, review others' work, or partcicipate actively in the group. I actually found myself writing less once I got bitten by the reviewing bug. There are just so many hours in the day! Yes, we want to read new stuff from our members, but we also want to benefit from their reviewing wisdom. I say if a poet shows us they write great poetry, however old, then that's enough for membership.
