I came alone to learn to dance. I had no thought of sweet romance. But fate decided otherwise, Once I looked into her eyes. The men were lined up 'cross the room. The place was silent as a tomb. But then the teacher made the call. "Girls pick a partner, one and all." And in a moment I could see A pretty lass glide right toward me Her smile was timid, that's for sure To me, it even seemed demure But when she asked me for that dance I felt the tingle of romance. And soon we two became but one. Together we had lots of fun. With guidance sent from heaven above. In time, romance turned into love So we've been married many years, Such happy times, no need for tears. And so I thank the gods that be She made a choice. That choice was me. (c) 2006 Henry L.
