What is Love?

Steamy windows in a coffee shop
Sitting alone in anticipation
A family crosses the street outside
A man walks away with his dog

And I sit.
Alone.
Waiting.
Watching.
Wondering.
Dreaming.
Feeling.
Sipping.
Thinking.
Believing.

I sat.
Alone.

For many days.
Many mornings.
Many evenings.
Rainy days.
Sunny days.
Tuesdays.
Fridays.

I sat.

One day the doors blew open.
A gust of wind came in.
I watched.

Moving swiftly.
Sweeping leaves in it's wake.
I felt.

It rustled by me.
Blowing my hair.
I understood.

The feeling swept over me.
Like a thousand breezes.
On a thousand days.
In a thousand different places.
I believed.

This feeling.
Wind.
Breath.
Rustling.
Sweeping.
Touching.
Holding.
Embracing me with every force in the world.
Lingering there until my final breath.

This was love.
In one instant I felt all of these feelings.
