EE, my understanding is that you do not capitalise the names of herbs. For instance, if I am writing about making a tomato sauce, I will use basil and oregano, not Basil and Oregano.

With information on herbs, I know of a few websites that may help you. What information do you want (cooking uses, scent, appearance, gardening information, magical properties etc) and for what period (modern, new age, medieval, renaissance etc)?
