I won't try to convience them that their judgement is wrong. It's their opinion and they are welcome to it. I usually do try to ask them about thier beliefs. Although I may be a Wiccan, I have an interest in all religion, and love to talk about them all. Usually people respond pretty welll to that. Once you get them talking freely and taking an interest in them, they usually respond better when I intergect with similarities between their religion and mine. Deep down all religions that follow a path of good have quite a few similarities. The hard core ones that are too close minded to have any sort of intellegent conversations with, well, I just walk away from. As far as new aquaintances go, well if they ask I'm very open about my religion. But I don't find that happening very much. What do you do for a living is usually a more suitable question for someone you are just getting to know, then what religion, or political affiliation are you. Most of the time with new people, by the time the topic of religion comes up, we already both like each other or they wouldn't have felt comfortable enough to ask about religion. So I have yet to have someone ask then condem me for it, even a few very much Christian people I've made friends with. Sabbatha One must be insane to stay sane in an insane world. |
