Re: How do I beat a sugar addiction?
Cold Turkey? Maybe I shouldn't use food analogies... but...
The first step to stopping the addiction is realizing you have one. First, you need to just cut out sugar altogether, and then, you can slowly work small amounts of it back into your diet. Remember that there are good sugars and bad sugars... there are carbs and complex carbs. Avoiding the bad sugars, and rewarding yourself with extra good sugars is another good tool. For example, instead of pecan pie, choose an apple, an orange, or some strawberries. You can make the apple more appealing by dipping slices of it in peanut butter, which is great because of the protein in it. The orange can be put in a smoothie with orange sherbet, and you can also put bananas and strawberries in orange smoothies as well.

Hi Barbie! I was just looking through my merit badges, and I noticed the first one I ever got over a year ago. It was from you! I've been looking through your blogs, and see you're having a rough time right now. I've gone through a lot of those struggles, too (still am, actually), and I wanted to send you something special to encourage you, the same way you encouraged me back then. *^*Bigsmile*^*
