I've just seen it, and I have to declare that it is a bloody good fantasy movie. Really good cgi effects, with the dragon sequence being my favourite action scene from all the films so far. Fairly solid acting from Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, with Watsons performance being the best of the trio. Unfortunatly, the characters of Snape, proffessor mcgonagall and most unfortunatly, Hagrid, have been noticeably decreased, but what scenes they do appear in are memorable. On the plus side, the weasley twins, my two favourite characters from the books, have larger roles than normal, and provide some much needed comic relief to what is generally a very dark film. A lot of scenes have been either changed around or removed altogether, mostly due to time constraints, but overall they've done a fine job of squeezing the story all into one film. Go and see it. It's a great way to waste three hours, and I guarentee you will enjoy it. Just don't expect it to be just like the book. Think of it as more of a tribute to the book. ---Thought--- The written word is the most powerful art form on the entire planet. Within it, one can communicate their deepest feelings, thoughts and beliefs on a far more emotionally sophisticated level than any painter, sculptor or musician could ever hope to achieve. |
