"Invalid Item" ![]() lumpy_01 I give it 5 stars I didn't hear the thunder, as the storm rolled in, Or recognize the wind as it slammed doors shut And bent will until it broke. Even when the lightening flashed in stormy daytime moments Breaking the blindness of midnight's tempest I shut my eyes and could not see. Shelter served as an illusion of protection Keeping me dry as hope washed away With the ground that held it. Floods do not last forever like the regret they leave behind, Or the awful haunting cry that echoes in my mind, "I wish I listened for the thunder." |
