Inspiration spoke to me
through your eyes of green.

"You are beautiful,"
they whispered

and I rose to the occasion.

I believed.

I would show myself
to the world as you saw me.
Flawless.

Weightless. Scarless. Perfect.
Like I once was,
how I could be once again.
And I flew free,
like a bird!

My pain disappeared,
the extra weight disappeared...

you disappeared.

Where did you go?

"You are beautiful," I said
to nobody there.

Then, I found her.

A vision to behold,
a wonderful person of grace and love
that I wanted the whole world to see!

It was me.

For the first time,
I saw myself.
Strong. Worthy. Disciplined.

Looking in the mirror,
I courageously called out
to my reflection,

"You are beautiful,
and you will always be beautiful.
There's no shame in loving yourself."

No embarrassment. No guilt.

I'm flying free...
like a bird who knows her way home.

"I'm beautiful."

And it's okay.
