Too saccarine

Anything by Emily Dickenson makes me roll my eyes as my back teeth float from the sugar sweetness. I don't like sweet for sweet's sake, nor cute for cute's sake. I prefer something visceral - like Poe. So please, do not quote me "Let me count the ways..." Because my reply would be "Let me get my gun..."
