My three port reviews were emailed to the port owners and copied here below. All the way at the bottom, I also have a current tally of which participants have already had their ports reviewed by someone (x's to the right - some have had multiple reviews) because I wanted to find ports that had not yet been reviewed. I added x's to my three as well, so it's up to date as of my posting, if anyone else is curious about that, too. Hello, Charles Nasby Main Portfolio I love the paprika quote. I say something similar about certain instruments, like vibraslap and - you guessed it - cowbell. They're the salt and pepper, not the meat and potatoes. I notice you're a leader for the SuperPower Reviewers Group, which I appreciate, since it means you have some reviewing experience. I imagine we'll be reviewing each other at some point. The duck on your port icon and your port header image are cute. I have no idea what they mean. Your organization strategy is simple and clear: You've divided everything into finished and unfinished works, plus a catch-all "Miscellaneous" for your word search and your books holding assignments for the activities you participate in. You could pretty it up a little with some item header images, but it's not necessary. Personally, I think the stock images look like stock images, and anything worth planting there takes time I'd rather use for writing. Reviews Tab You have Review Requests ON with a minimum 1k GP offer, and you've written over 100 reviews in just one year. Happy belated anniversary, by the way. You've stated your reviewing style is "detailed with emphasis on areas that need growth and areas that are pretty good already." I scrolled through a few of your more recent reviews, and I definitely agree, though I would also add that your reviews tend to be character- and plot-focused (as opposed to, say, grammar- or mechanics-focused.) That's going to be great for reviewing epic spec fic stories. Biography Tab You've listed yourself as teen male from Milwaukee. (BTW, Storm Machine Notebook Tab Looks like you post a handful of times every month. But I also see that others post on your notebook, too, which means you're making friends. Blog Tab You have a blog, but it's set to private. A personal journal, probably? Those are highly cathartic. Community Tab You have quite a collection of Merit Badges! Looks like you take your streaks and your reviewing very seriously. That's amazing, especially for a person with ADHD. You could use a few more awardicons in the Trophy Room. Maybe we need an awardicon-prized activity at The Sprawling Ink Society? I feel like I've gotten to know you a little better. Thanks for tolerating me snooping around your port. Hello, StephBee Main Portfolio My first impression - other than your veteran status - is that you're a busy bee! Your folders are called "Shelves," a cute nod to printed published works. (You may have missed this one: "Horror Short Stories" ) Also, you have a LOT of folders, with a LOT of writing in them. You have everything from poetry and short fiction to and ongoing travel log (in the form of letters, and I Reviews Tab Review requests are on. You describe yourself as an editorial reviewer, and that you strive to be honest without being unkind. I scrolled down through some of your reviews. You use template(s?) for consistency, which incorporates all the things the author might want to know about your impressions, and it also includes a little splash of color. I find that you always look for something to connect with, making your reviews cozy, like a friend wrote them. I scrolled enough to find a review with fewer than 4 stars, and when I did, I agree that it was both kind and honest, and included useful suggestions. Biography Tab A little more detail, and here I learn that you were also stationed in Germany! When? Dad was stationed in Heilbronn (Stuttgart area) from 1977-1982(ish), and my brother was born there. Then again from 1990-1994 in Darmstadt and Frankfurt (where I graduated HS in 1993). Notebook Tab You're very active, posting multiple times per day, everything from conversational observations to plugs for the various activities you run or support. Blog Tab Your blog intro is long and features a brief introduction to you and your family, a lot of awards. I also tracked you to social media where you and I are friends, but the Facebook algorithm is stupid. I "liked" your Artemis II post to hopefully bump you up into my feed. Although I've been avoiding it the last few months. Community Tab Lots of badges and awardicons, and you seem to be serious about your streaks and reviews. But I also notice that after the streaks and birthday badges, next comes "Judging" and "Generosity", which I think says everything about your participation in the community. Thanks for letting me poke around. Musically, Michelle Hello, iKïyħama Main Portfolio I noticed right away that you used your bio block to focus on the reader instead of yourself. It's a sign of a natural empath. It also reads like something a teacher would say, and I connect with that energy 100% (as a professional teacher). Then your highlighted items - two out of three of them are supporting other people. There's a quote from Parks and Recreation, one of my favorite shows of all time, where the police chief says, "Leslie Knope can have as many favors as she wants... Because when Leslie asks for a favor, it's always to help someone else." You strike me as a Leslie Knope. Okay, about the website. In the Portfolio menu, near the bottom, is the InkSpot Setup. I set it up years and years ago, but that last few times I checked it, it seemed to be broken. So what is this wizardry you've wrestled up? Where do you set it up? And I'm guessing the rest of the contents of your port are just hidden in a private folder? Reviews Tab You haven't set up an intro on your review tab, However, you have Review Requests ON, and you've written a jaw-dropping 4,366 reviews on WDC. Biography Tab You give us a little bit about you, but lean toward privacy in a lot of ways. Notebook Tab You plug your blog posts regularly, and you seem to blog consistently. In addition, you occasionally post more conversational posts. You're very active. Blog Tab Your blog header is all images, but the message is clear: friendship and positivity. Community Tab What have you been up to in the community? Easier to say what you haven't been up to. Nearly 300 awardicons and over 1,800 MBs! Only 512 trinkets, though. Still more than I have (438), but Charles Nasby Thanks for the opportunity to snoop through your port.
