Play along and collect a paycheck every two weeks. |
Pick three members of "26 Paychecks " (they are all listed on the forum page and also at the bottom of this post) and review their portfolio. Ideally, you'd choose someone from the list that you're not already familiar with. This is an activity to get to know each other a little more. buddhangela Hi Angela, you probably don’t remember me but you and I helped out Schnujo together for one of her overwhelming tasks a few years ago. I saw you’d been searching for your lost Contest Challenge entries and was relieved to hear they hadn’t gone missing. Are you hopeful to catch up? I’ve resigned from the Contest Challenge myself this year but not until I’d completed another whole year. I’m writing to you as my choice of one of the portfolios for the third task in 26Paychecks. The task is to visit three fellow participant’s portfolios and reveal what I found there. Well, the first thing I found is that you’re back after a couple of years. Welcome back. I read your Biography which reveals quite a lot about you, gender, age, location and lots of your favourite things. Besides all your favourite authors, poets and books, I came across this quote from Johnny Depp and I also loved it: “People cry, not because they are weak, it’s because they have been too strong for too long.” Perhaps that tells me more about the person you are than anything else could. Your Blog stopped suddenly in September 2024. Let’s hope now you’re back you can continue with it You used to be quite active on the Newsfeed and now I saw you advertising your new contest The Weekly Quicky Contest for January, so it seems you’re off to a good start. I noticed your review requests is turned off. I checked out some of the reviews you have given and I loved the easy natural way you write them. You obviously take your time when writing a review giving due diligence and thought to the process. We need reviewers such as yourself, so hopefully that OFF sign is turned to ON. Anyway i enjoyed my trip to the Buddha’s portfolio. Please feel free to call in and say Hi. Cheers Sue IceSkatingSugarCube Hi, Jennifer, you’ve been around WdC for about the same time as I have. I’m writing to you as a part of the third task for 26 Paychecks. The task is to select three fellow participants and visit their portfolios. I chose you because I’ve always followed your blog. I like reading it because of its candour. I enjoyed reading your Bio because you share so much of yourself. I like knowing the personal details of the people whose blogs I follow. I missed you when you stopped blogging in September of 24 and it was great catching up with all the news in December last year. You’ve certainly hit the ground running since you came back. Perhaps it was 26 Paychecks which inspired you? I notice you are still open to receive review requests and have even put a Give me Something to Read segment in your portfolio. You have given over 40 reviews since your time here which is pretty good given your time being absent. Although I’m not into craft I admire your dedication to Crocheting and like how you advertise your Utube Channel. It’s great how you have started your own Contest this month, we flash fiction writers love another venue in which to tell our stories. Good luck by the way in your Fundraising campaign. You highlighted a folder titled A Box of Weeds in which have 34 flash fiction stories. That’s pretty impressive and leads me to believe you’ll have no difficulty in completing the Bradbury this year! Anyway I’ve throughly enjoyed my visit and please pop in and visit me if you feel so inclined. Cheers Sue Lynn Nichole Hi, Lynn, you probably don’t know me but I’ve chosen you and your portfolio for the third task for 26 Paychecks. I like this task, visiting people in their portfolio home. I noticed straight away you are a relative newcomer to WdC, although you mentioned you have returned from a long hiatus. For this assignment I am tasked with revealing what I discovered when I had a fly around. I read your Bio and although I now know about your writing style and that you love to read, I didn’t get any personal details about you, which is fine. Some people prefer to keep their private lives separate. I guess I’m very different and enjoy getting to know people on a more personal level. First thing I noticed was your desire to write and yet many of your titled folders are empty. The one I did enjoy reading though was in Writing Assignments where your Dear Me letter for 2026 resides. I loved reading it, especially the ten goals you have set for yourself this year. I hope you have much success with them. I loved your review style. The recipients of your thoughts on their stories were lucky to receive a response from you. I could tell you took the task seriously and read through the item several times before making any suggestions. You are open for reviews, you’re an excellent reviewer and ought to do more this year. I noticed your 7 day visit streak is up to 26, that is pretty good going. You mentioned how much you enjoyed reading the items in the Newsfeed, yet didn’t often interact there. I understand as I too have been more of an onlooker but am trying harder to “socialise “ a little more. Anyway Lynn it’s been great visiting and I’d love to hear from you too if you ever feel so inclined. Cheers Sue |
