I have emailed three people and posted the portfolio reviews here, as well. Lynn Nichole Portfolio Tab It looks like you just celebrated your first WDC anniversary recently! Happy Anniversary! I love your portfolio image. It reflects your handle (name) and is simple, yet elegant. It will stick in my memory. You mention a couple of details in your portfolio header that we have in common. Everything under your Portfolio tab is organized with appropriately named folders that guide visitors through your work. You have 2 blogs. I did not know that was possible! You mention in your Portfolio header that almost everything is in progress, so my only comment there is – we can’t wait to see your new work! Happy writing! Reviews Tab Your review requests are ON and you have completed 8 total reviews. I like the format you used for your very first review best. Very organized. Have you heard of the "The Power Reviewers HUB" ? If you haven’t, maybe check them out! Biography Tab You are detailed in your biography without giving personal information (like a picture of you). I’m ok with this because I don’t share that stuff here either. You play guitar, which is awesome and enjoy a wide range of music. I only recognize C.S Lewis from your favorite authors. I’ll have to check out some of the others. Cartoons – whether they are t.v. shows or movies – are fantastic. Notebook Tab Your most active posts are for "26 Paychecks " , which is understandable. Happy anniversary posts, some thank yous for reviews and your last personal update posts were a bit ago. When you’re ready to share anything new, we will love to hear from you! Blog Tab The blog tab doesn’t show up for me on your portfolio, even though I can see that you have 2 of them listed. Not sure why that is. I’m still learning how to navigate WDC, so it could be something I just don’t know yet. Community Tab Your community tab is growing! You have given out 2 merit badges, received 55 of them, been awarded 2 trophies, participated in 79 forum posts, and collected 9 great trinkets! I really enjoyed looking through your Portfolio and look forward to seeing more of your work. I became a fan, so I can see when any new items come out. Take care! Happy writing and reviewing! AbbyAG Portfolio Tab Giraffes are adorable and your portfolio image is awesome! It looks like your first WDC anniversary is coming up soon and your portfolio is looking great in time to celebrate it. (I did see that you are having computer problems, and I hope those are done or will be done soon for you!) You’ve been writing poetry and prose since you were eight, which shows just how much you love writing. The first poem I wrote was about that age (a haiku about autumn) and I remember agonizing over it. I’ve never written another haiku since. You are a devout catholic and that influences your writing, which is a heartfelt detail to include. It looks like your portfolio is in the process of being organized. The folder names are descriptive and guide the reader to your work. I loved the poem about the eagles you watch. The photographs you use are beautiful. Reviews Tab You have review requests turned ON and you have given a total of 23 reviews. You don’t define your style of reviewing in the Review tab, but reading through your reviews it is obvious that you are a conscientious reviewer. Whether your review is short or more involved, you offer the author your thoughts on their work in a caring and honest manner. You often relate to what their work was about, which shows the impact they are having on their audience. Any criticism you offer is constructive and delivered with respect. Biography Tab Your biography is well done with a photo and lots of detail for us to get to know you. We both have birthdays in March! (The best birthday month of all, of course. I admire your honors achievements in high school and college. I love your philosophy about life and the challenges you face with disabilities. They shape your life, can sometimes affect your writing, but they will never define you. Others will get to see those words here on your portfolio and be inspired. I hope to see more of your work where this shines through, too. We both enjoy creative writing over non-fiction. I also descriptive and narrative writing over persuasive and expository. Your interests are animals, Catholicism, reading, writing, and listening to music. What kind of music do you like? I love mysteries, too. You mentioned the Father Brown Mysteries. I haven’t gotten to watch these yet, but my sister has and she really enjoys them! Notebook Tab You’ve been doing a lot of posts in your Notebook in the last couple of months, which is great to see, especially considering the computer problems. (I am a firm believer that computers should be made to accept chocolate as an offering so they will run better. That or coffee. Whichever they like best!) I love the images you used to advertise 26 Paychecks and the one for Christmas day was adorable! I’m wondering if you got snow and how much if you did? Blog Tab I don’t see any Blog tab listed on your portfolio. If you did have one that you wanted to share with us, we would love to hear from you on it. Community Tab You have given out 2 merit badges, received 51 of them, have 5 trophies, collected 12 very cool trinkets, and participated in 193 forum posts! That is pretty darn impressive for less than a year on WDC! I’ve had a great time looking through your portfolio. I’m sending good vibes your way for the computer problems and can’t wait to see more of your work. Here’s hoping Jack Frost takes a vacation and Spring is around the corner! 💙 Carly: Happy New Year Portfolio Tab You have a very expansive and engaging portfolio, which is fitting since you are coming up on your thirteenth anniversary here at WDC! Your portfolio image is beautiful and the poem speaks to the hearts of all authors. You’ve been writing since you were a child and completed NaNoWriMo in 2012. I’m glad that achievement urged you to make writing a bigger part of your life. I feel like I channel a bit of my younger self when I participate on WDC because I could never have imagined such a place would be possible as a child. Highlighted at the top of your portfolio page are your guestbook, I Write in 2022, and your NaNoWriMo from 2017. I do not have a guestbook yet, but having looked at other portfolios, I am now considering one. The list of your items is long but organized so readers can navigate through by type or by the year, which is helpful. Your folders for each year do not have images attached to them, but perhaps that is because it might be hard to choose one image to represent an entire year’s worth of work. Reviews Tab You have review requests turned ON and you have given a total of 852 reviews. You do not list a style of reviewing but given that you have over 800 to use as references, it can certainly be discerned from those. I found your reviews interesting to look through because you have a variety of them: short, long, as a judge, as a participant in Writer’s Cramp (reviewing the person whose entry was prior to yours), and ones created as you participated in various activities. All of them showed an honest, caring nature that had the best interests of the author in mind. The longer reviews are formatted for organization with short, focused comments. Biography Tab You are a female from Ontario, Canada that has a birthday in January. I have a lot of family members with birthdays in January. My sister’s is on January 13th (she prefers when it doesn’t fall on a Friday!). The rest of your bio is short and sweet. I appreciate the sentiment that reminds us that even though you have achieved much, you are still learning, as well. You do not have a personal picture here, which I can respect because I do not either. Notebook Tab The most recent entries here are from the 26 Paychecks activity, birthday wishes (happy belated birthday!) and then highlighting new blog entries. You have a steady stream of blog entries, which shows your dedication to them and is something I admire. Blog Tab You are a member of 5 different blogging groups. Your most recent blog post (January 1st) has me sending comforting thoughts your way. I can understand your sentiment that 2025 was heavy for you. The troubles your aunt and uncle are experiencing. I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin. The challenges with your mom’s health that wears upon you physically, mentally and emotionally. You are not alone. I hope that it helps you to know that you are on the minds of many here. For me personally, 2023 was a mixture of both pain and relief. My parents both passed within 3 months of one another. My dad suffered from Alzheimer's. My mom followed him the day after Christmas. She spent their last anniversary (Dec. 23rd) apart from him and that was enough for her. They are no longer hurting. I miss them each and every day. I took two years away from here, from a lot of other things too, to focus on spending time with my family. Now, I’m finally writing again. Sometimes to work through the pain that is still there. Sometimes, just to celebrate life, like I know my mom and dad would want me to do. I wish the best for you in 2026. Visit here when you can, no matter if it is to read or write or connect with your friends. Community Tab You have given out 137 merit badges, received 1,476 of them, have 65 trophies, collected 279 (WOW!) trinkets, and participated in 6,268 forum posts! Quite the collection of participation for thirteen years! I have enjoyed looking through your portfolio and will need to stop back by to see more. I sincerely hope that you are experiencing better times. Remember the image and the poem in the header of your Portfolio tab. Sometimes the best advice we can take is our own. |
