Thank you for leading me down a rabbit hole! Within my portfolio, I have a book in progress called Heartless Lie, which I began writing in November 2003. To be quite honest, I don’t remember writing this, and of course, because I didn’t remember it, I started reading to see what it was that I wrote. To my surprise, I found it light, weird, and humorous. It appears to be my writing style, twisted mind and all, along with everyday characters and a plot line that could continue into something. It would be considered a romance/love relationship type of genre or potentially a short story, but perhaps more of a novella. In short: A two-week game of charades, created by two willing participants, intertwines Cassandra Marshall into James Anderson’s life at full throttle, and both into each other’s hearts at full tilt. As a business deal with a well-thought-out plan comes to an end, Jamie finds himself threatened by the thought of losing Cassie, but it is a secret from Jamie’s past that forces Cassie to abandon him. Will the love that they have created allow them to be honest with each other despite the lie that tore them apart? After all, a lie only holds power until the truth has been told. Only then does it become a thing of the past, allowing life and love to go on. It appears I wrote all 8 chapters in one night. As to why I didn’t continue with the full synopsis that I had created, I can tell no lies, cause l really don’t have a clue. Perhaps at the time I thought it was stupid, or I received a comment that made it seem pointless to continue, or life just got in the way, and I never returned to finish it. I had the item private, again another mystery, so I updated the access and will put it out there once again to determine if it has any value or worth to continue. 335 Words |
