Hello Chrys O'Shea I think that your sentence about the brown grass is a little contradictory. If there was a drought, the grass wouldn't be hard and dry. It would not really have that flowing quality. At least I don't think so. And I am also in the camp that thinks that your sentence has too much in it. You could probably use half of the words and still paint a pretty detailed picture. I think that you can use the name of a person who is regularly on TV or otherwise somewhat famous. They have a lower expectation of privacy than regular people. But if you're going to put words into their mouth, try to find a quote that you could back up with a citation if needed. If you want them to say something that you made up, I would stick to calling a person by their title: The coach. That way, even if you describe the person and they think they feel offended, you didn't actually name and shame them. |
