If you don't know someone, no, you should definitely not send them an advertisement. That's considered SPAM and is grounds for account termination (usually only when enough complaints are sent in about it... but people don't like ads in their email -- and just imagine 100 people on the site thinking they could do this ... that would be a lot of SPAM -- let alone the thousands of people on Writing.Com doing it... it would make email useless to people as it would be just ads).

Please, for your own good, don't spam.
