After looking at stillshots from my session with Lora on Tuesday--the session in which I was having so much trouble doing even elementary things like not bumping the string--I have concluded that I had the shoulder rest on the wrong way around 🙄 I fixed that and I padded the E side of my bridge, tuning is restored, and now it's resting for tune. Wow. On the one hand, I'm glad because it means there was a cause other than "I'm an idiot" for my problems on Tuesday. On the other, what kind of idiot puts the shoulder rest on the wrong way, put the instrument on, and then doesn't notice? Meh.
Joey Robichaux from the Austin Wernick camp just sent out a HUGE home-made jam songs book. I looked it over to see that it's got a lot of great old tunes I had forgotten about, like "Groundhog"! I worked up a melody line for that in G and got it written down 😊
