My journey from fat to fit! |
|
I’ve been trying to lose fat and get fit for a long time. This will be my blog about my fitness journey! When a lot of people go from extremely fat to healthy and fit, they usually leave a lot out of their story. For instance, in online articles someone might have one paragraph describing when they were 300 pounds and sneaking fast food on their way home before eating a regular dinner with their family, then in the next paragraph they’re out running 5K’s and 10K’s. I want to show the fitness journey from beginning to end, with a lot of details and the philosophical outlook I’ve come up with on my own to guide me on my fitness journey. Hopefully, my experience can help others. |
| I woke up Saturday weighing just over a pound less than I did Friday. I attribute it to eating three hard boiled eggs and a pouch of organic brown rice and quinoa for lunch the day before. When I was getting to the low 270s a few weeks ago, that’s what I ate for lunch, so I need to stick with that. On Saturday morning I was debating on whether or not to skip my morning walk. The lady who owns the house on the property where I live was out of town for a few days, and I was holding onto some packages that came for her. I felt that if she got home during my walk, that would inconvenience her. The weird thing is, I didn’t like the idea of skipping my walk, so I went and walked for 50 minutes. A year or so ago, I made every excuse in the book to avoid going for my morning walks, and I usually avoided going. My mentality now has changed, and I enjoy my walks now. I drink some herbal tea before going, and that fills my stomach so I’m not too hungry to walk. I bought some canned chicken breast and used it for goulash, and also to make chili con carne. It sounds gross, but actually tasted really good. This is better than ground turkey because there is no grease to get into my arteries, and it doesn’t need to be frozen, so it saves space in my freezer. I’m listing my reasons to get and stay fit: I need to be able to walk to the bus stop, which is a mile and a half away. I need to be in shape in December to walk to the clinic three and a half miles away and back again, seven miles total. I don’t want my fitness blog to be a joke for people to mock me because I never reached my goals. I don’t want to forever be a before photo, I want to reach my goals. In the unlikely event that I ever go back to prison, I need to be strong enough to fight. I need to have good blood pressure Pondering these reasons can help me to stay on track when I get tempted to stray. If I have junk food on hand, I want to look at this list and use it to gain the willpower to resist temptation! |
