Teeth... Don't ask about them today. I feel sad about all the things I've lost due to depression and anxiety. A very nasty duo if you ask me.
Job. Nope. That era passed long ago. I do wonder whether I could be a teacher or mentor. No one seems to be interested in talking to me though... so... no.
Yes, I agree, winter weather is not for the faint of heart. I live in Northern Ontario, Canada. Early winter was weird, mild. It has finally blown in with lots of snow, ice and blustery winds. I remember winters of -40C when everything was frozen and power outages occurred. People bundled in sleeping bags in their homes. Indoor facilities might as well have been outhouses/latrines. If anyone plugged in the block heaters of their vehicles and then could start said vehicle it became a warming station, but only if there had been access to hydro. The temperatures are forecasted to be colder in the next week. We'll see. I walk daily. As you write, dress for the weather. Stay warm.
We here in Minnesota are in for a long cold spell as well. I can dress for it, but I can't breath well in it. I know, put a scarf over my face. That helps with the cold, but I can't breath well under the scarf. But, perhaps some short walks with my Husky. He loves the cold.
I edited my un-posted "Dear Me" letter. NO resolutions, just an inner dialogue between my suggestions and my reluctance to follow them. Very real... in some ways.
I try to go for a walk every day. I keep track of this in Porthole. The problem arises when I'm back in Montana. A long walk on a bone-cold day? Not to forget those 42 steps going down... and then back up. I guess I could skip a couple going up if I'm careful. I'm more concerned about falling down them.
Even Missoula will be chilled. -12 tomorrow; never going above 0 on Saturday. I hope my place will be okay. There's nothing I can do from here. I made sure my windows were shut. The winds will be coming down Hellgate Canyon from the north-east, but my windows face south. And winds under 9 mph.
I'd be in a similar position if I hadn't lost everything years ago. I had to let go. That truly bothers me at times; but, I probably wouldn't be on WDC, traveling or living in Thailand/Montana.
My place in Missoula is 1908.
As for flash fiction? Perfect. You may write 400 words just trying to write 300. And then the edit...
