I'm guilty of loving all the seasons but I do understand winter does seem like it's longer than the other seasons. In spring I love everything coming to life, in summer I love the warmth and the activities because the days are longer, autumn I love the vibrant colors and their holidays, and winter I love seeing fresh fallen snow glittering when the sun rises but I'm not fond of how easily it becomes dirty, and barren looking.

I love rivers too! We have the Erie Canal that runs through a big portion of where I'm from (Goes from Lake Erie to the Hudson River, using the lock system to take boats full of people or goods across multiple rivers. The locks raise or lower the water within a sectioned part of the river to meet with the height of the river on whichever side they were going.). Rivers were always something that were there too and always so relaxing and also such a part of the communities they go by. When I was back home (now two weeks ago!), the town my sister lives in has a "Concert on the River" and it's local/small bands that come and play music for free and people just bring their lawn chairs and hang out. There are a couple of local restaurants that are called "Bridge Runners" and come down and take orders for people if they want any food and bring it to them. Some other towns also on rivers all seem to have something similar. It's really cool!

The ocean would be awesome. I've always been amazed by it the few times I've seen it (The Atlantic specifically). Lake Ontario gives me ocean vibes, because it's so immense, but seeing the ocean and it being warm will always just be...such a weird feeling. lol

I've always been fond of bodies of water. I generally prefer the ocean, but there is something calming about lakes and rivers too.

It's also what I try to focus on. I wish I could blame social media. Unfortunately, it's real life that drags me down. So, I have to pretend it doesn't exist for awhile, so my mental health doesn't disappear into the nether. So I focus on things I can control and I focus on things that make me happy and it helps!

For me, it's always been knowing what is real, and what isn't. That old song, 'Everything Is Beautiful' springs to mind. If you believe everything you read or see on Facebook, you're really in trouble. The same goes for any Social Media site. A lot of people on those sites only want to create hate and discontent. The spreading of lies is their main goal it seems. I choose to ignore that and focus only on the beautiful things in life. The things we cherished as children. Dang I sound old!

Yes, definitely! It is something I try to focus on, especially if I feel the weight of all of the negativity. Cat groups on FB help. Seeing people doing good things help too. So I try to focus on those things.

I have done stuff like that a few times! The same with seeing stuff on Facebook ads. I just hate that not all of them have their own websites or places off Amazon. It's just so frustrating, because I'd rather go to somewhere nearby and buy stuff, especially when it comes to things like wall mirrors.

Also, I still have my iPod Nano! I had to look it up because I constantly forget which one I have (3rd gen). I don't use it as much as I used to, especially since 2017 since the 2 cars I've had since I can connect my phone to my car so I've done that instead of using my iPod. I know someone else who still uses their iPod and that makes me happy!

Nice entry here with some nice thoughts.
I think, in some ways, we the people are very beautiful; then, in some other ways, we're also very ugly. Life may be a farce or not, but if we stick to the beautiful, we can make it, at least, a beautiful experience.

Make it Cozy

Prompt: What is your idea of a cozy home? Write about this in your Blog entry today.

I think it's hard to describe it. First, I think it's different for different people, but also because...a cozy home is a feeling. I felt it about our house when we walked through it. It was a multitude of factors for us. The windows along the back of the house (kitchen and living room) brought in a ton of light from the backyard. The house has an open layout, but enough walls that each of the rooms feel enclosed and separate. It feels warm, the house has been taken care of for its nearly 30 year existence. The rooms are all decent sized rooms. They aren't too small where it could feel almost claustrophobic or too large where it feels almost disproportionate.

The color of the walls can make rooms (or a place) feel cozy and I feel like we helped do that with our house. Most of the walls were white (the bathrooms all had been redone and had been painted and our kitchen had a very light pale silver gray paint given to it), we painted the office, all three bedrooms, the dining room (which is now our library), and the bonus room (the middle bedroom and bonus room were painted in some very bright/neon colors, so the colors we chose were more "normal" and calming). They feel more lived in, brighter, and in some cases more calm and relaxing.

Something else we will be doing is putting art and things on the wall to give them a more "lived in" and cozy feel too. Not a lot of stuff, but enough to make the walls feel less barren.

It's always interesting see people's styles and even those who like to collect things, when they're stored in an organized way, it feels cozy versus feeling cluttered. Almost like walking into an antique shop.
