Ten years ago I was writing several blogs on various subjects - F1 motor racing, Music, Classic Cars, Great Romances and, most crushingly, a personal journal that included my thoughts on America, memories of England and Africa, opinion, humour, writing and anything else that occurred. It all became too much (I was attempting to update the journal every day) and I collapsed, exhausted and thoroughly disillusioned in the end.
So this blog is indeed a Toe in the Water, a place to document my thoughts in and on WdC but with a determination not to get sucked into the blog whirlpool ever again. Here's hoping.
Actually, that thing about being odd creatures was later. The blog puts the latest post on top. But you're right, we have so many ailments (and strangenesses) in common. It even goes in generations, some ailments being popular at certain times and not in others. And it's how we handle it that matters, how we manage to continue.
Me, I bear up by treating the ageing process as an interesting phenomenon. Regarding oneself as an experiment for learning lessens the pain and provides a reason to continue. It's all in how we handle it.
Ailments huh? You mentioned earlier that we are an odd race with the things we do, like water or plants. If we were to compare ailments, we might be surprised at the number people have in common. My list would be lengthy I think, but lengthier than others. It's what we do to survive that sets us apart though. I try not to complain though, it's all comes with age. SandraLynn said it happens to all of us if we're lucky. She's right too, I have many friends who didn't get to age, didn't become very old. Heck, I'm not old yet, ask me how I feel in 15-20 years, I may answer differently then. I do plan on living forever though, we'll see how I do I guess. I got off subject there. Ailments. We all have them, some more than others. I consider myself middle of the road, in everything. Good post, I look forward to reading more.
