| Your Portfolio Tools and Highlighted Items have been given an updated look and feel on your portfolio page! The tools themselves haven't changed, but they should now be easier to spot. Just a small tweak to make navigating and organizing your work a little smoother. Search Added to Portfolios You can now search within your portfolio or someone else's right from the portfolio page! This IS new... enjoy! (Click Portfolio / Portfolio from the left navigation to see the changes.) |

1) Book Manager Update The book manager got a glam-over, clean-up. There's now a more proper toolbar that allows you to turn on/off all the gizmos and doo-dads, like bulk ordering, access restrictions and more. Tags have been added as well. Clicking the tags let members manage the individual entries as well as filter the entire book's entries by tags. The bulk system has tags available, too. Check 5 entries, click the "Tag" tool from the bottom and add tags to all 5 at once.  (Shout-outs to Brandiwyn🎶  for the initial tag request and Amethyst Angel ♡  for the bulk tagging request that led to this latest beautification.  )2) Item Edit "Time" Update Previously, every edit to an item updated its modified time. Now, only changes to the item's title, brief description, or main body will automatically update the time. You'll find a checkbox at the bottom of the item edit form for the modified time. It will be checked automatically when you change any of those three listed areas. If you didn't change any of them, you can still opt to update the time by ticking the box.  (This has been tested, but until it's been out there for a good bit, please don't rush out and test this with some item you haven't edited in 10 years because you didn't want to lose the modified time from 2016.  That's a terrible test case. A forum you edited last week is a much better test case. Please feel free to report any bugs in "Bug Reporting" .)3) Three New Emoticons! It's PIE for everyone! | We’ve just rolled out an update to the Review Tool to make it cleaner, clearer, and easier to use for our power users. The layout has been reorganized so the most important parts of reviewing are easier to see and understand. Things like rating, review options, gift points, and group affiliation are now grouped more logically, making the process smoother on both desktop and mobile. This brings the Review Tool right in line with our recent upgrades to the item review area, so reviewing in general now just feels more consistent across the site. Your feedback is such an important part of the Writing.Com community. We want to make sure the tools for giving reviews feel modern, intuitive, and comfortable to use. | We wanted to share the latest improvements we've made! 🤓 Item Review Area Refresh The section at the bottom of items where reviews are written has been updated to be cleaner and easier to understand. Since feedback and reviewing are such an important part of our community, we wanted this area to feel more modern and make it clearer what to do when leaving feedback. The improvements apply to both desktop and mobile. 🎨 Ratings Now Match Your Skin The rating stars for items will now match whatever site skin/theme you are using, automatically adjusting the color to fit the look. 🧭 Writing.Com 101 Navigation Update "Writing.Com 101" has been removed from the top header navigation, but it is still available (and always has been) in the left navigation under Tools & Help. We’ll also be gradually updating the 101 pages over time to better match the current look of the site, include any new features we release, and simplify many of the instructions. Thanks in advance for your patience while we work through those updates. 🛠️ Small Bug Fix A spacing issue that sometimes appeared after a quote and before a divider line has been found and fixed. NEW: Snippets! We’ve released a major upgrade to the (now called) Snippets (formerly short-lived "Quick Text" and "Macros")! (SM hated the name Quick Text, so now it's called Snippets. 🤣) ⭐️ NOW available for Basic memberships and above! (Previously available for Upgraded and above) Snippets now have a completely rebuilt system including: • Easy access button in the editor toolbar • A fully redesigned Snippets manager • Categories to organize your Snippets • A searchable dropdown in the editor (search by title or content) • Drag-and-drop reordering • The ability to duplicate Snippets • Inline preview of rendered content • A much improved mobile experience The total Snippets limit has also been increased from 20 → 100! There are still 20 keyboard shortcut slots available (due to physics), but the rest are easily accessible from the new toolbar dropdown. You can also reorder Snippets within categories to control exactly how they appear in the editor menu. You can access Snippets in two places: • The Snippets button in the editor toolbar • My Account → Account Settings → Manage Snippets It’s pretty snazzy. 😎 Thanks for listening, paying attention, helping us knock out the bugs, and hanging on for the ride!
